About

In early 2014 Mike sprang out of bed and said we are building a tiny house! We had no idea what we were doing and how that was going to work living in a small house with limited room but where there is a will there is a way. Mike tirelessly researched and studied tiny house designs and construction mainly from the US trying to apply this to NZ materials and methods. At this stage the NZ tiny house community was just an idea. Wife Loren was supportive but was not sure about living in a shoe box and thought that fade would pass - it did not and her came around after proof reading and learning from Mikes blog post about the subject. After a year of research the build begin on a newly brought piece of bare land. From the outset the build would be different, Mike tied different construction methods and materials as him and Loren clipped away at it one weekend to the next. From the outset Wee Make Change as set up as a blog and information source for others to help their builds which still remains a focus today. After a couple of years of juggling construction, lifestyle block developments and weddings the couple moved into their tiny house on wheels. Shortly after they need to adopt the design o suit a new born which Mike said at the design stage not to worry about against Loren’s inputs ;). Fast forward to today and this passion has turned into a family business. Mike how uses his worldwide experience as a mechanical engineer and product designer to develop some real nice tiny house products for people all over the world. Mike and Loren love to help other out and always welcome a visit to their tiny house in Napier by appointment.
